Hranice – redefinition of urban structure
Uherková, Ivona ; Ryšavá, Hana (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
The diploma thesis Park and Ride deals with the design of a car park in the town of Hranice, which is known mainly for its important transport train node and Hranice Abyss. The city now suffers from the high intensity of car traffic in the city center due to insufficient street network. This network is disrupted by a four-lane road that was built in the 1980s and cut natural transport links. The abolition of the four-lane road, which is now lacking in transport services, releases a large amount of development area, which is primarily used as an agri-recreational area. Part of this green belt is the parking house, which prevents the entry of surplus cars into the city center. The parking house is a new transport hub of the city, which also includes elements of alternative transport - transfer to public transport or bicycle, which makes it possible to create a city center pleasant for pedestrians.
OLOMOUC – Densification Urbaine – Urban Consolidation
Haasová, Lenka ; Spusta, Ondřej (referee) ; Koleček, Ivan (advisor)
Densification is a significant urban trend of the 21st century in European cities. With the growing population comes the question, where to build? Is it possible to continue to expand urbanly into the surrounding landscape? We already feel the problems that the growth of the city in the area brings with it. Is there really no other way that is sustainable and can improve the quality of life in cities? Thanks to the new use of seemingly complicated parts of the city, we can contribute to the development of the city. Densification is therefore a way of sustainable development, namely the economic use of urban space. During the analysis of the structure of the city of Olomouc, the question arose where we can thicken and thus improve the quality of life in the city? Right on the edge of the center, there are places that are slowly becoming "dead" and not "habitable". These places are close to the city parks, which were created in the places of the former bastion fortifications. Could the interconnection of these parks give a gradual impetus to new thinking? The chosen place for the design of the student center is located on the southern edge of the historic center near the building of the former market. This area has very complicated links to the surroundings and its potential is not fully exploited. It could therefore become the center of the university, where the city connects with nature.
Development of wood-based board materials applying thermal modification process
Buriánek, Vlastimil ; Pipíška,, Tomáš (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals deals with the effectiveness of polyurethane and phenol-resorcinol-formaldehyde adhesives when applied in bonded joints of thermally treated sheet materials. The thermal resistance of commercially used adhesives was analysed as part of a research activity. Furthermore, the changes in the properties of wood materials after heat treatment were described. In the practical part, the effectiveness of the used adhesives on densified birch plywood was verified with respect to the shear strength of the resulting composite. Based on the results obtained, it was proceeded to verify the effectiveness of densification on spruce plywood.
Innovative wood-based materials
Buriánek, Vlastimil ; Brožovský, Jiří (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of optimizing the modification process for plywood boards. Optimization consists mainly in evaluating different densification methods with different parameters of plasticization and stabilization. Psychical parameters (bulk density, swelling, water absorption) and strength parameters (bending strength, modulus of elasticity) of modified plates were chosen for the evaluation parameters. The practical part involved the verification of two thickening treatments on birch plywood.
